Overview

While humanitarian aid agencies are increasingly committed to reducing their environmental footprint and donors are bringing funding processes in line with greening agendas, field practitioners often feel insufficiently equipped to adapt global institutional objectives to their day-to-day operations and constraints, and initiate practical actions.

This training course provides participants with a core understanding of how to engage with current opportunities to reduce carbon emissions in the aid sector, and the opportunity to draw up and implement their action plan within two months of the training course.

Learning objectives

By the end of this training course, learners will (be able to):

· Identify the main causes and consequences of climate change/emergency, and the issues at stake, including loss of biodiversity, pollution and depletion of resources;

· Participate in reducing the environmental footprint in Lebanon at project and organisation levels.
